WHY THIS INSURANCE?

Illness strikes without
warning. The capital is there.

Government health insurance covers basic care. But complementary care, lost income and adapting your daily life during recovery - that's your responsibility.

A diagnosis never gives warning. It's often in the first weeks, during the shock, that expenses pile up fastest.

The right amount depends on your income, your debts and a realistic recovery time for your condition. Alexandre discusses it with you, directly.

PREMIUM CALCULATION

How is the premium
calculated?

Several factors influence your premium. Alexandre guides you toward the best conditions.

Get my estimate
Age at signup
Sign up early to lock in your premium

The premium rises with age. A serious illness rarely strikes before 40 - but diagnoses climb sharply after. The best time to sign up is before you need it.

Health and history
Personal and family medical history

Family history (cancer, stroke, heart disease in parents or siblings) can affect insurability. Alexandre analyzes your profile to find the best conditions.

Desired coverage amount
Lump sum at signup

The amount depends on the income to protect, your debts and your family situation. Alexandre calculates the minimum capital to maintain your standard of living throughout a treatment period.

Number of illnesses covered
Basic coverage vs expanded protection

Some products cover 4-6 basic illnesses, others up to 36 conditions. The cost varies with the breadth of coverage. Alexandre explains the differences and what's most relevant for you.

YOUR QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

How many illnesses are covered?

Depending on the chosen product, 4 to 36 illnesses can be covered. The most important include cancer (all malignant forms), myocardial infarction, stroke, major organ transplant, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease. Alexandre explains the specific exclusions.

What is the 30-day survival period?

Most policies require you to survive 30 days after the diagnosis to be eligible for the benefit. This period is meant to distinguish confirmed diagnoses from cases that aren't survivable in the short term. Alexandre guides you on exceptions and products with no survival period for certain illnesses.

Can I use the capital however I want?

Yes. Unlike a disability income, the capital is paid in one lump sum with no restriction. You can use it for complementary care, to pay off your mortgage, replace your income, fund a recovery trip or any other expense.

How does the premium refund option work?

Some products offer an option to recover the premiums paid (in whole or in part) if you never claimed, at a defined age or on death. This option raises the monthly premium but turns the policy into a net-zero-cost instrument if you stay healthy.

Does my group insurance cover critical illness?

Rarely, and if so, very limited. Most group plans don't offer critical illness protection, or cover only a few conditions with a very low capital. An individual policy advantageously complements or replaces this coverage.

Is there a waiting period after signup?

Some illnesses like cancer have a 90-day waiting period from policy issuance. Others, like heart attack or stroke, are generally covered from issuance. Alexandre explains the specific waiting periods before any signing.

Can I be reinsured after remission?

It depends on the insurer and the illness. Some products permanently exclude an illness already claimed, others allow new coverage after a recurrence-free period. Alexandre checks these clauses before choosing your product.

Does the premium rise with age?

No. Once the policy is issued, the premium stays fixed for the chosen term, regardless of your age or future health. That's why signing up early pays off.
